What training does a Functional Neurologist/Chiropractic Neurologist receive?
A chiropractic neurologist completes a fellowship of over 300 post-graduate hours in neurology. The fellowship training focuses on rehabilitation, neuroscience, and neurophysiology. Dr. St. Laurent completed his post graduate work as well as a practicum and assessments from the American Chiropractic Neurology Board. The ACNB is recognized by the American Chiropractic Association Council on Neurology. This training is the same level as neurologists; however, functional neurologists and chiropractic neurologists differ in their treatments methods-- they do not include medications or surgery. Although Dr. Ruben works very closely with many doctors to support medication use when necessary.
