College Male Client
He was granted a full scholarship to MIT. After a year at MIT, he was failing and wound up gaining a medical release due to anxiety and stress levels. He battled a nervous breakdown despite his elevated level of intelligence. He was failing, but hoped the temporary medical release due to his health would help him reset. His parents chose to be active and find help for Matt. He was so smart that even though he attended an accelerated prestigious college prep high school, he was rarely challenged; therefore, he never learned to study. He did not need to study until he reached the collegiate stage. MIT was definitely challenging, but because he did not know how to study, he did not receive any credit for his first semester in college. After four weeks of the summer program, his brain was cognitively reset and supported as well as trained to study and organize to ensure success at college. The following fall he successfully returned to MIT.
